The Carriage is a luxurious, beautifully decorated South Australian train carriage that was once part of the Barossa Valley Hotel.

Circa 1901, this historic train carriage has been lovingly restored with the highest attention to detail. Reminiscent of luxurious train travel of a bygone era, you will be transported back to a time of luxury and decadence.

Nestled on 10 acres of natural surroundings this beautiful property is located only 3 minutes drive from the historic village of Mundaring, 15 minutes from the town of Gidgegannup and 20 minutes from the Swan Valley with its vineyards and tourist attractions.

Accommodation Details

  • An open plan living area kitchen, dining and lounge. The kitchen is modern country in style whilst the lounge and dining areas are cozy and romantic.
  • The train carriage consists of a lounge, dining and kitchen area with a beautifully restored “Petit Godin” 19th-century fireplace, a bedroom featuring a super king sized bed and separate bathroom complete with shower and slipper bath.
  • Reminiscent of luxurious train travel of a bygone era, you will be transported back to a time of luxury and decadence. Disembark from the train carriage and you will find yourself upon your own station style decking, ideal for spending a lazy afternoon or entertaining friends. The carriage is perfect for a romantic getaway or for those wishing a unique place to stay.

  • Minimum of 2 nights stay.
  • 25% deposit required to secure the booking. Balance due 14 days prior to occupation.
